Welcome to Matt’s Desk! This site is here to document the things I get up to in the evenings and weekends. The site is split into three main sections:
- Projects: Various creations covering a range of interests
- Machines: The equipment being used in the workshop and history behind it
- Custom tools: Tools made to complete other projects

Based in the UK, my youth comprised of tractors, go-karts, lawnmowers and Lego. I discovered a passion for machining in adulthood, and I find my interest in this area only grows as the years go by.
I enjoy keeping busy with projects both in the workshop and in the house. I greatly enjoy the problem-solving associated with creating, whether troubleshooting on something I haven’t tried before, getting the look of something just right or hitting a new personal benchmark on precision.
For me, the enjoyment is in the making!
