Coat hooks
Amongst a selection of roofing timber salvaged from a 1960s bungalow in the middle of a roof conversion was an attic ladder. Whilst the ladder had been damaged during removal, many parts of its Canadian pine construction were salvageable and had a lovely grain.
Whilst one stile was split along it’s length, the other side was in good shape. The good stile was cut in half, sanded and treated. The diagonal cuts that can be seen in the above image are where the treads were mounted into the stile.
